DETAILS
Why are we not heard? On the local level in many parts of the world, citizens can use petitions, referendums and citizens' assemblies to influence political action. But so far, there is no way for citizens and civil society to influence on global politics.
It has been known for years that the United Nations, the organisation central to global governance, needs to become more inclusive and democratic.
In our summer webinar series “Now we will be heard” we will discuss four concrete proposals to make this happen.
Join us for the third session, where we'll look at the UN Global Citizens' Assembly. By taking you on an online treasure hunt, we will introduce these ideas of democratic global governance in detail. The concept is simple: we will set challenges for you to find out more about these ideas, in preparation for a joint discussion with you and the experts on these topics. You won't have to invest more than 90 minutes in total for this event, we promise.
We count you in!
