Achieving Critical Reform Ahead of the Elections
  Colombo, LK Other events

DETAILS

As our nation approaches both presidential and parliamentary elections, the need for significant socio-political reforms has never been more pressing. We find ourselves at a pivotal moment where initiating a comprehensive reform program to rejuvenate our system, which has long been in a state of disrepair, is of utmost importance. Despite the urgency, there has been an alarming lack of discourse on this critical issue.

We are reaching out to seek your support in launching a robust reform initiative aimed at integrating a direct democratic element within our representative democracy. Our objective is to enact legislation that empowers citizens to submit proposals directly to Parliament, thereby ensuring their voices are heard and considered in the policymaking process.

We cordially invite you to participate in a crucial discussion on these proposed reforms. The meeting will be held on June 16, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, at the Hector Kobbekaduwa Research Institute, No. 114, Wijeram
