I'm also happy to report that the legislation that would instantiate Engaged California has passed through the State Assembly and (fingers crossed) should make it through the rest of the process.  The legislation isn't specific about exactly what constitutes a deliberation or what technologies should be used so that we can continue to refine and improve the process moving forward.

 

The second is that today I just published one of the many pieces that will emerge from our shared work specifically on Realizing the Potential Gains of AI-Enabled Deliberative Democracy.  The TL;DR was the basic point of most of our conversations: that human governance, not just whiz-bang technology, is essential to our shared success in this area.
