DETAILS
The 4th International Student Forum on Future Democracy will take place on 12-18 October 2026 in Eisenach, Germany.
The Forum, jointly organised by the Gesellschaft zur Erforschung der Demokratiegeschichte e.V. (GEDG) and Student Network on Future Democracy (SNFD) takes place annually in Eisenach and aims to foster international dialogue among young people and help them envision a better future democracy. The week-long forum includes thematic workshops with experts, open working sessions, and free time to get to know one another as well as the historical city and its surroundings.
This year’s thematic focus, Democratic Literacy, explores how democratic literacy is understood and shaped in different political contexts, the skills citizens need for democracy to function, and how these competencies can be strengthened nationally and internationally.
