How do you know if your town or city is a democracy? One way to understand the question is to examine cities that are considered leaders in local democratic practice and innovation.
One instructive urban leader in democracy is Barcelona, in the Spain’s autonomous Catalonia region, and the first European Capital of Democracy.
Another is Bogota, the national capital of Colombia, with a long record of innovation in mobility, public participation, and democratic data.
In this event, we’ll bring together two democracy practitioners in Bogota, and two expert-practitioners in Bogota, for a planetary conversation about how to make our cities more democratic and effective.
